{"id":27,"date":"2019-07-17T01:00:46","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T05:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/en\/?p=27"},"modified":"2019-10-24T22:06:11","modified_gmt":"2019-10-25T02:06:11","slug":"how-to-access-synology-nas-with-ssh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/en\/27\/how-to-access-synology-nas-with-ssh\/","title":{"rendered":"How to access Synology NAS with SSH"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\">If you buy a Synology NAS and add features to it, you&#8217;ll be instructed to access SSH.<br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\"><\/span><br>However, care must be taken when setting up SSH, as misconfiguring them could put the NAS at great risk.<br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\"><\/span><br>First, (1) How to set up SSH on a Synology NAS (2) How to access SSH, in order.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\"><strong>(1) How to set up SSH on a Synology NAS<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image-36-1024x503.png\" alt=\"Control Panel - Terminals and SNMP - Terminals\" class=\"wp-image-265\"\/><figcaption>Control Panel &#8211; Terminal and SNMP &#8211; Terminal<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">First, you can activate the SSH service on a tab called Terminal by entering the Control Panel &#8211; Terminal and SNMP menus. The SSH service port is essentially number 22, but this port must be changed &#8220;unconditional.&#8221; It must be changed, not an option, otherwise the NAS will be plagued by hacking attempts. Once described here, it is the default port number 22.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span>(2) How to access SSH<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">For Windows 10, the SSH client is built in by default. (CMD) If you don&#8217;t want to use it, try using a program called PUTTY.<\/span><br><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> <span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chiark.greenend.org.uk\/~sgtatham\/putty\/latest.html\">Download from the official PUTTY homepage<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\">(1) Using PUTTY<\/span><\/strong><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\">When you install and run PUTTY, you can see the following screen:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image-37.png\" alt=\"PUTTY \ucd08\uae30\ud654\uba74\" class=\"wp-image-266\"\/><figcaption>PUTTY Initialization Plane<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\">The important things here are Host Name and Port number. If Host Name is a network on a share, such as a NAS, you can enter the NAS&#8217;s internal IP. If you want to connect from the outside, you must have DDNS set up on the NAS. Assuming the NAS&#8217;s DDNS address is main.synology.me, simply enter main.synology.me in the Host Name and insert the port number 22 set above. Check the connection type with SSH and then press Open.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image-38.png\" alt=\"PUTTY\uc124\uc815 \ud6c4 \uc544\uc774\ub514 \uc785\ub825\ucc3d\" class=\"wp-image-267\"\/><figcaption>Set PUTTY and enter ID<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This will open the login window. Enter the technology NAS ID with administrator privileges and press enter. (This is assumed that ID is &#8216;main&#8217;)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image-40.png\" alt=\"PUTTY \ud328\uc2a4\uc6cc\ub4dc \uc785\ub825\ucc3d\" class=\"wp-image-269\"\/><figcaption>PUTTY Password Input Window<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Then a window pops up asking you to enter your password. Let&#8217;s enter your password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image-41.png\" alt=\"PUTTY\ub85c\uadf8\uc778\uc131\uacf5\" class=\"wp-image-270\"\/><figcaption>Success windows<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I succeeded in signing in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">(2) Using Windows CMD<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">I don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s just me, but when I have to work outside, or when I have to hurry up to my computer, I feel uncomfortable and uncomfortable to install Putty. What is useful in this situation is SSH connection through Windows CMD. Never hold a Wi-Fi in public and do so. It&#8217;s too dangerous.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><\/span><br><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Turn on the CMD first in Windows 10. You can turn on the CMD as an Enter after selecting Windows key+cmd input+command prop or after entering Windows key+R -&gt; cmd.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image-43.png\" alt=\"\uc708\ub3c4\uc6b0CMD\ub97c \ud1b5\ud55c SSH\uc811\uc18d\" class=\"wp-image-272\"\/><figcaption><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">SSH connection in WindowsCMD<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Enter as below in the CMD window.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\"><code>ssh [Administrator ID]@[NAS ConnectionIP or DDNS Address] -p [port number]<\/code><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\"><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\" class=\"tadv-format-panel\">Then the following window opens.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"832\" height=\"294\" src=\"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/07\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-37\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gumu.kr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/07\/image-1.png 832w, https:\/\/gumu.kr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/07\/image-1-300x106.png 300w, https:\/\/gumu.kr\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/07\/image-1-768x271.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 832px) 100vw, 832px\" \/><figcaption>ECDSA key confirmation<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">It means whether you trust the computer you are trying to access or not.
